Meet Annamalai Subbiah, a foresighted business leader with over 33 years of experience in the metals and scrap metal industry. With a global perspective and dynamic strategic approach, Annamalai has gained extensive knowledge in all business segments related to this industry in both developed and emerging markets.
As a pioneering entrepreneur, Annamalai has leveraged synergies and built future capabilities in the metal industry. He envisions AUM Metals as the ultimate platform where buyers, suppliers, and other partners can connect and do business seamlessly in a transparent manner.
Annamalai’s success story began with Arumugam Annamalai Industries, a manufacturer of automotive components, which inspired him to turn entrepreneur and set up Sri Raghavendra Industries, an automotive parts manufacturing firm. Employing over 3000 people, Sri Raghavendra Industries was his first success story as a business leader.

In 2006, Annamalai moved to Germany and established a venture where he partnered with major scrap recycling companies such as the Alba Group, TSR Group, and HJH Group. Working with them to procure and supply high-quality foundry scrap from automobile players like BMW and Volkswagen, Annamalai’s network expanded rapidly across Europe, Central America, South America, and Asia.
Through AUM Metals, Annamalai intends to remove all the challenges faced by partners and collaborators in the metals and scrap metal industry while adding tremendous value to the supply chain and this sector.
